Sunrise - Ides of March 2025

When we’re at the coast, early each morning we talk a walk along the beach.

The sunrise changes from day to day.

On March 25, it had beautiful red colors.

I decided to use this as an idea to create a semi-abstraction

This has features similar to First Sunrise of 2025.

But in this piece I focused only on the sky, sun, and clouds - making it more like a true abstraction.

Once I started, I realized that God must be communicating with Mark Rothko and showing him how this is done naturally.

This is not a photographic copy - a bunch of artistic liberty was used.

This is printed on Hahnemuhle’s Cotton Rag paper, meeting archival standards.

The paper’s surface allow for rich colors.

One print was made at 36” wide x 24” tall.
